A traditional dish from Côte d'Ivoire, alloco is prepared with plantain bananas that are fried in peanut or red palm oil. I will reveal this simple and delicious Ivorian recipe to you! In Baoulé, the language spoken by the largest ethnic group in this African country, alloco means ripe and sweet. The plantains used must therefore be very ripe for greater success. Nourishing, gourmet and friendly, alloco is a dish that can be shared with family or friends. And above all: It's DELICIOUS and very easy to make! So do not hesitate! Do it quickly! And tell me in the comments how you found it?
The plantain banana is a fruit that is eaten like a vegetable. It is usually eaten cooked.
The Ivorian Alloco Recipe :
Ingredients :
Nice plantain bananas frying oil Salt
Start by peeling the plantains. Cut them into slices.
Heat the peanut oil in a deep fryer (or a heavy-bottomed saucepan). When it is hot, add the plantain slices in the peanut oil and let them fry until they are golden brown.
At the end of cooking, the plantain slices should be nicely colored. Remove them from the fryer and place them on a plate lined with paper towel. Let the alloco drain for 5 minutes.
Sprinkle a little salt on the allocos. Mix. Serve your allocos immediately, as an aperitif or as a main course, and enjoy them piping hot.
